Junior Surf Club
The 2010 Season is underway

Mairangi Bay's Junior Surf program is one of the most successful in the country, leading the way for members to participate in Junior Surf sports, and also providing key skills for water safety, rescue techniques and basic first aid.
The Mairangi Bay Junior Surf program caters for children from ages 7-13. This is done in three groups; A Group are children 7-9, B Group 10-11, and C Group 12-13.
Each group has its own set of instructors and craft to learn on. Emphasis is given to water skills, craft, and beach events whilst having lots of fun. Training is on Sunday mornings beginning with sign-in at 9:45 followed by a briefing.
Please note all parents are expected to remain at the beach on Club Days and are encouraged to participate in coaching or helping out.
While we do focus on improving swimming abilities, we do not teach swimming lessons. Swim squads are available (including Kids Ocean Clinics) and we have partnerships with swim schools (see the Swim Squad link on the left navigational menu).
Subs for this season are:
- $90 single child
- $135 for two children
- $180 for 3 or more children

The children must wear club gear, which is available on Registration Day. Club togs and beanies are compulsory with a range of other optional clothing available including Rash Tops, hats and Long Jackets with nylon outer and fleece inner for keeping warm at the beach - see the "Clothing and Uniforms" link on the left for prices.
The emphasis for the Junior Club is for the children to have great fun while gaining confidence in and around the water. In addition they learn valuable skills that lead on to Lifeguard Services.
